HISTORY REPEATING
Metalworking has been taking place here for 30 years.
HONOURING TRADITION
Guild comprises a team of welders and fabricators who produce bespoke metalworks using traditional smithing techniques and processes that tell a visual story.
Kindred spirits come in all forms.
This workshop represents an unshakable dedication to artisanal craftsmanship and a reverence for materials established by fabrication firm Fabtech over the course of three decades. Theirs was an ethos that resonated with Christopher and Nicola Cox, founders of Cox London—inspiring the pair to invest in the company and bring it forward as Guild Bespoke Metalworks with a vision to preserve these skills and ensure they are passed on to the next generation.
The synergy was clear from the start: custom-making pieces to order and taking on creative challenges are notions that drive each brand individually and thread them together, along with holding a deep respect for their teams and the talents they possess.
OUR CRAFTSPEOPLE
Heritage skills realised through seasoned experience and excellence.
Some of the Guild artisans have been making metalworks here for more than 25 years. Thus, we’ve become masters of our craft—proficient in classical methods while continuously on a quest for new and provocative ways to achieve results.
Our talented fabricators—experts yet always evolving—collaborate with equally skilled teams in the areas of sales, logistics and creative support to help you understand the full scope of your project, from inquiry to fabrication and installation. We take pride in the quality of our work, including meticulous in-house CAD design and technical drawings that help us bring your vision to life. Our goal is to deliver your bespoke metalworks with a seamless, swift turnaround, all while dedicating the time needed for thoughtful craftsmanship and unwavering attention to detail and timeless artistry.
BLANK CANVAS
A metal smithing studio nestled within the picturesque surroundings of the Hampshire countryside.
Just as the natural world serves as muse for Cox London, Mother Nature also plays a key role at Guild. Our workshops are located in the rural storybook setting of Stockbridge, Hampshire on the River Test, an idyllic chalk stream famous for its trout fishing and rich diversity of flora and fauna.
Dating back to the 13th century, this land has inspired generations of authors and poets. In fact, immortalized poems await discovery along a stroll through the pastoral, marshy town, as if the town itself were a time capsule.
It’s a wonderful place for our guild of talented practitioners of the metal arts to find endless inspiration and continue honing their craft.
FORWARD THINKING
A movement for securing the future of heritage craft.
LEARNING CURVE
Ensuring the knowledge and skill of this team inspires the next generation.
We are a collective of artisans with a deep admiration of the craft. As such, we seek to pass on the ancient and time-honoured traditions of metalwork and move the genre forward into the future. Our vision for Guild is that it becomes an authority on the metal arts and a formal institute offering apprenticeships where young makers can nurture their craft under experienced artisans.
As much as we appreciate happy, loyal customers who return to us for multiple commissions, we welcome with equal enthusiasm future employees who want to hone their skills at a centre of excellence. In this way, we can positively and creatively affect the future of the industry at home and abroad.
